The Knowledge Centre is an essential pillar of the Oman Across Ages Museum. It is rich with paper and electronic information sources that contribute to building knowledge among the various categories of society, starting from children to researchers.
The Centre provides an opportunity for its visitors to benefit from its facilities, equipment and services, enrich their cultural and historical knowledge, and provide a long-life learning opportunity for students and researchers.
This three-storey Knowledge Centre, covering about 6,000 square metres, houses the Hisn A’Shumookh Library, as well as a variety of educational spaces providing different educational events dedicated for different age groups.

Any enquiry made by a person using the “Ask a librarian” form will be responded to at the earliest opportunity, by the most appropriate method (i.e. email, mobile phone, website, social media platforms, etc).

The Knowledge Centre contains a computer lab, which users can utilise to access electronic information resources. Users can also bring their personal computers to connect to the internet through LAN and WIFI.
To guarantee researchers have access to all printed resources at the Knowledge Centre, external loans of all printed resouces are not allowed. These may be copied, printed or scanned at a nominal price.
The design of the Knowledge Centre is accessible for the persons with disabilities. There is a step-free corridor and lift.
